Click “Start”
Click “Control Panel”
Click “Classic View” on the left
Click “Internet Options”
Click “Connections” at the top
Click “Add”
Click “Setup a new connection anyway”
Click “Dial-up”
Type in the “phone number” for the service
Type in the “user name”
Type in the “password”
Check “Save Password”
Click “Create”
It will want to connect. So if you are on the phone you will have to hang up. I would just “cancel” the connection at this point so you can do the other settings.
That should take you back to the “Internet Options”.
Click on the connection once
Click on “Settings”
There should be nothing checked here
Type in the “User name”
Type in the “Password”
Click on “Properties”
Check the Phone number and make sure it is correct
Remove the check from “Use dialing rules”
Click “Configure”
Change the “Maximum speed (bps)” to 57600
Click “OK”
Click the “Networking” tab
There needs to be checks in, “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), QoS Packet Scheduler and Client for Microsoft Networks”
Double Click on “Internet Protocol Version 4” or click on it once and then “Properties”
This should be in most cases “Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically”
Click “OK”
Click “OK”
Click “OK”
Click “OK
Close the “Control Panel”
Open “Internet Explorer” there should be a dialer.
